ABOUT

The Batter Ups is a one-man pop-punk project from Odense, Denmark.

I’ve been writing and recording music for more than three decades, playing guitar, bass, drums and whatever else was needed along the way.

Before The Batter Ups, I spent years writing, recording and performing in different bands and projects. That included the one-man power-pop project Tommy and The Rockets, as well as playing drums in the horror-punk band The Hitchcocks.

Over the years, I’ve been involved in plenty of other bands and projects, and I’ve also lent my vocals to a few other projects along the way.

In 2026, I started The Batter Ups as a clean slate.

The idea was simple: write short, uptempo songs with big melodies, loud guitars and choruses that stick around longer than they probably should.

The songs tend to revolve around crushes, bad ideas, awkward situations, overthinking, missed opportunities and the occasional spectacularly poor decision. Musically, the project sits somewhere in the pop-punk world, with plenty of influence from Ramones, Green Day and Masked Intruder.

Everything you hear is written, arranged and performed by me. I record the songs at Rocket Launch Studios, and most of the releases are mixed and mastered by Perry Leenhouts.

The first full-length Batter Ups album, Interstellar Crush, is currently taking shape.

The visual side of the project has changed quite a bit since The Batter Ups began. What started as a more elaborate comic-book universe has gradually become something much simpler: black lines, white space, handmade lettering and a little stickman who somehow ended up becoming the face of the band.
